Harrogate-based Suffrago has launched a public poll to find out the level of support for the proposed expansion of the Harrogate Spring Water bottling plant, that is in the final stages of the planning process.
Suffrago is a non-political organisation that is much more than just polling, but aims to cut through noise, to see real opinion.
Their mission statement says “create a platform and process through which the voices of the people can be heard, in context, and those in power can listen to it directly; rising above the noise and vitriol of existing media”.
Andrew Gray of Suffrago said:
We placed a poll live on Sunday evening (26 Oct) and it received over 500 votes by the following morning.
The polls poses a simple statement, that people can either strongly agree with, or strongly disagree with, with a scale inbetween.
That statement was “I support the Harrogate Spring Water Expansion”.
The poll was something we independently decided would be useful to do, with benefit to the community.
