The Post Office is running a consultation on moving the main Post Office from Cambridge Street to within the WHSmiths, still on Cambridge Street, but part of the Victoria Shopping Centre.

  • Between 3pm and 7pm, Monday 3 December 2018 at the Majestic Hotel, Road,

The consultation runs until 19 December 2018 and people should respond directly to the Post Office. Responses can be of course supporting and opposing the proposal.

A Post Office Spokesperson said:

We are not immune to the challenges facing retailers in local high streets, and we must adapt to changing customer needs by making our services more accessible to customers, for instance through longer opening hours, such as Sunday opening.

Our proposal to franchise Harrogate branch to WH Smith will enable us to ensure that the branch remains in centre of Harrogate not just for today’s customers but tomorrow’s too.

It is natural that communities may have concerns about proposed changes to their Post Office which is why there is an ongoing public consultation as well as a customer forum which takes place on Monday 3 December between 3 and 7pm at Majestic Hotel, Ripon Road, Harrogate, HG1 2HU, so that customers can give us their feedback on our plans.
