Race for Life Harrogate raises £65K for Cancer Research UK

15 July 2018

Harrogate’s Race for Life has raised £65,000 for Cancer Research UK with 1,400 runners completing either a 5K or 10K course.

This year the race has made good use of the Stray in the town using a couple of road closures on each day over the weekend. On Saturday there was the 5k Pretty Muddy course and on Sunday there was a 5K or 10K course.

The weather was very warm from the start, making the two-lap 10K course a real challenge.

Emma Colborne for Cancer Research UK said:

There will be almost 1400 runners this year which is more than last year – the numbers are up because we have a 10K and a 5K race.

We will raise £65K, which is a fantastic amount and will make a huge difference to our research work.

I would just like to thank all those that took part and supported the event.
