Benoit Viellefon & his Hot Club open the Spiegeltent

Benoit Viellefon & his Hot Club officially marked the start of the spiegeltent last night in Harrogate. (29 June 2018)

A regular to the spiegeltent, he played to a sell-out audience.

Lizzie Brewster from the Harrogate International Festivals said:

What a fantastic first night. Benoit Viellefon and His Hot Club were the perfect way to open the Spiegeltent with their unique combination of sultry sounds, Hollywood elegance and a little French ooh la la packaged up in an evening of swing and jazz.

Last night set the bar high, and there is so much to look forward to over the next week with a fantastic selection of events taking place in this magical tent. It’s the perfect summer night out in the centre of Harrogate, and a great way to experience a whole range of musicians and performers.

Tonight will see Ayanna Witter-Johnson play, with some tickets still available. See

See the video of Ayanna at the MOBO’s.

For those looking for the video that we took on the night – it’s in post production and should be on-line later today.

  1. A fantastic night out , the music was in turn , amazing , beautiful , crazy, upbeat and amusing . Audience participation was encouraged throughout the performance , foot tapping and stamping to the beat , singing , hand clapping and the audience invited to get up of their seats and dance and some did all ensured a very enjoyable evenings entertainment. Thank you to the West Park Hotel Harrogate for the two tickets we won in their festival competition, we loved the whole experience , Maureen & Robert Burns
