Man remanded in custody as investigations continue on Harrogate theft from vehicles

Michael Callum McCool, aged 30, from Kelbrook, Pendle, Lancashire, appeared at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on 20 April 2018, charged with dangerous driving, driving without a licence and driving without insurance – He was remanded into custody

In relation to the other alleged offences, including theft from vehicles in Harrogate and York areas, he was released under investigation while police enquiries continue.

He was arrested, following a pursuit, on Wednesday 18 April, at around 8.10pm, his grey X-Type Jaguar failed to stop for two marked police vehicles in Ripon.

The Jaguar drove through Ripon and headed towards Harrogate on the A61. Officers deployed a stinger device on the road, the car was brought to a stop, and the driver was arrested at 8.20pm.
