Run Nidderdale 10K, a trail race through the stunning landscape of Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Local Runners Invited to Take on Scenic Nidderdale 10K in Support of Local Charities

17 April 2026

Runners from across Yorkshire and beyond are set to take part in the Run Nidderdale 10K, a trail race through the stunning landscape of Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, taking place on Saturday 23 May at 10am.

Organised by Nidderdale Fell & Trail, a Pateley Bridge-based running club, the event builds on the success of last year’s race and continues to grow in popularity within the trail running community. With its combination of challenging terrain and breath-taking views, the race is quickly establishing itself as a highlight in the local running calendar.

The race will start and finish at Nidderdale Showground in Pateley Bridge, where runners and spectators can enjoy refreshments and soak up the atmosphere on the day.

Supporters and members of the local community are warmly encouraged to come along and cheer the runners on.

As well as offering a memorable day out for runners, the event has a strong community focus and is supported by volunteers from the local area. Around two-thirds of the race profits will be donated to two important charities:

  • Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association
  • Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association

The causes are closely connected to members of the club. One member volunteers with Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue, while another has a close personal connection to MND. In recognition of this, the club has chosen to support the MND Association this year alongside the local Fell Rescue team.

The remaining funds will be reinvested into the club to support training opportunities, community outreach, and social activities, helping to grow participation in running across Nidderdale and the surrounding areas.

Caroline Ball, Race Director, said:

We’re really excited to be hosting the event again this year. It’s a fantastic opportunity for runners to experience the beauty of Nidderdale whilst also supporting two charities that mean a lot to our club and the wider community.

We’d love to see as many people as possible come along, whether that’s to take part or to support on the day.

The race is open to runners of all abilities, particularly those looking to experience trail running in a friendly and welcoming environment. The event is licensed by the Trail Runners Association (licence number 8206) and is open to runners aged 16 and over.

Entries are now open, and places are expected to fill.
