Holiday Inn becomes Crowne Plaza

21 March 2017

A Harrogate hotel, managed by Valor Hospitality Europe, has undergone refurbishment works to transform it into a Crowne Plaza hotel.

As part of the rebrand, the former Holiday Inn has had all 214 bedrooms as well as the restaurant, bar and public areas upgraded and enhanced, creating spaces that ensure guests experience the ultimate in wellness and productivity.

The hotel, which offers sweeping views over Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales, is the third of four Valor managed hotels which have rebranded from Holiday Inn to Crowne Plaza within the last six months.

Nicolas Craninx, general manager of the new Crowne Plaza Harrogate, said: This is an exciting time for our hotel and we’re looking forward to delivering a new Crowne Plaza experience to Harrogate, not just for visitors to the area but for local people too.

The hotel is directly linked to Harrogate International Centre which means we attract many guests visiting Harrogate on business. The style and philosophy of the Crowne Plaza brand will appeal to business travellers looking for somewhere well connected where they can work productively from and leave feeling rested and restored.

However, as we’re in such close proximity to many family friendly local attractions and all the wonders Yorkshire has to offer, we’re ideally placed for leisure trips too.

Guests’ health and wellbeing will play a big role at the rebranded hotel with a new ‘fast and fresh’ menu available, as well as complimentary water and fruit to keep guests hydrated and energised. As part of the refurbishment celebrations, the brand new Springs restaurant is offering 25 per cent off food until the end of April 2017.

Nicolas said: Whatever the reason for our guests’ visit, delivering the best service possible will still be our main priority.

Brian McCarthy, managing director of Valor Hospitality Europe, said: We felt that bringing the Crowne Plaza brand to Harrogate would be the best way to enhance our offering to customers in this region.

The hotel is in an easy to reach location for business use and already has excellent meeting and conference facilities including six meeting and event rooms which can hold up to 320 people. This is a key offering for Crowne Plaza hotels and it will now focus on connectivity, wellness and business needs to ensure we’re meeting the demands of our customers.

The team from the Holiday Inn will be staying on board under the new Crowne Plaza model.

Valor Hospitality Europe has been operational in the UK for 18 months and manages 18 properties in its UK portfolio on behalf of investment vehicles affiliated with MCAP Global Finance Ltd.
