Lee Ashforth to stay on as Harrogate Railway manager

25 April 2016

Harrogate Railway have announced that Lee Ashforth has agreed to remain as the team Manager  for the 2016/17 season.

Following a meeting of the club’s committee, it was decided to offer Lee the opportunity to guide Railway back to the Evo-Stik League One North from the North East Counties league.

Lee has confirmed that he would like to continue in his role as manager of Harrogate Railway and take on the challenges ahead during the 2016/17 season.

Lee said:

When I was offered to stay on at the club, I spoke to a couple of people but it didn’t take me long to confirm that I would stay.

I want to repay the loyalty shown to me by the club and players.

I would like to thank the committee for acting swiftly and therefore giving me the best chance to ensure we have a squad capable of competing in the North East Counties.

Harrogate Railway say they look forward to working through the summer to assemble a squad capable of fulfilling our ambitions and to getting our 2016/17 league campaign off to a great start.
