Police need good Samaritan to come forward following Harrogate town centre assault

At 11pm on Friday, 10 July 2015, two people, a man and a woman, were with a woman at the cash point outside the Post Office on Cambridge Street in Harrogate.

However, the man and woman ran off when they were approached by the man who asked if the woman needed help.

The man, described as tall, of slim to average build with a shaved head and tattoos. He remained with the victim, who in her 30s, until the police arrived. He then left the scene before police were able to obtain his details.

Police would like the man to come forward as he may have key information to assist the investigation surrounding the assault on the woman.

A 27 year old man from Harrogate has been arrested and charged in relation to the incident. He has today been remanded in custody at Northallerton Magistrates, pending further investigation. Police are still looking for further witnesses.
