Man seriously injured in Harrogate assault

Detectives are investigating after a violent assault in Harrogate during the early hours of Sunday morning.
A 29-year-old man from Ripon suffered a serious head injury in the incident, which occurred near the junction with Union Street and Kings Road, at around 4.15am on Sunday 26 April 2015.

He is currently receiving treatment at York Hospital.

The police are appealing to anyone with information about the incident to come forward. In particular, officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or was in Bambinos takeaway around the time the incident occurred.

Two men aged 39 and 40 were arrested in connection with the assault. They remain in police custody for questioning.
