A1 closed near Catterick in North Yorkshire after explosion

A report was received by North Yorkshire at 3am this morning, Saturday 29 November 2014, after an explosion was heard in the Catterick area.

There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

Both slip roads to Catterick have also been closed and diversions have been put in place. Motorists are advised to avoid the area at this time.

This is a precautionary measure while police conduct their enquiries.

Police have thanked motorists for their patience and understanding while they deal with the incident.
