Appeal to trace Harrogate flag stone thieves

6 November 2014

Harrogate police are appealing for information following the theft of Yorkshire Stone flags from two properties in the town.

The first one occurred at a property on Kent Road which is undergoing renovation. Thieves stole 12 flags from the garden between the builders leaving the site at around 4pm on the evening of 16 October 2014, and the following morning. The suspects then returned to the property overnight on 29 to 30 October and stole a further 40 flags.

In a similar incident on 16 October, thieves stole 20 paving slabs from a property on Rutland Close in Harrogate.

Police are appealing to anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity or vehicles in either of the roads on the nights in question.

The suspects will have needed a vehicle to transport the paving slabs and would have taken some time to lift each once and carry it away.
