UPDATE – Serious collision in Harrogate

This is an update following the serious collision on Oatlands Drive in Harrogate.

It involved a cream coloured Fiat Panda and a silver and blue mountain bike, both travelling from the direction of York Place.

The collision occurred near the junction of Slingsby Walk footpath near St Aiden’s School.

The cyclist, a local man in his 50’s was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with serious head injuries and was later transferred to Leeds General Infirmary.

The collision occurred at around 7.15am on Thursday 23 October 2014 and officers are appealing to anyone who saw either the Fiat Panda or the cyclist travelling along Oatlands Drive prior to the crash and to anyone who witnessed the actual collision, to contact them.

The road is currently closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and for the vehicles to be recovered.
