78-year-old taken to Hospital after his car overturns

A 78-year-old man was taken to Harrogate Hospital after his car ended up on its roof on the Harrogate to Ripon road (A61).

A red Nissan Qashqai overturned near to the Cascade garden centre at around 4:20 pm.

The driver managed to get out of the vehicle himself before being taken to Harrogate Hospital with cuts to his hands and suffering shock.

There was also damage to a traffic island and the road fully re-opened at 6:05 pm.

  1. The markings on the Ripon Road now are stupid, has been an accident waiting to happen. Road planners put no thought into it when they decide these things.
