Harrogate business wins #WOW award

27 July 2014

Harrogate-based online retailer, Freckled Frog, has scooped a highly coveted #WOW Award from business guru Jacqueline Gold.

The Chief Executive of Ann Summers is a passionate supporter of women in business, and her weekly Twitter campaign, Women on Wednesday (#WOW) is just one of the ways she does this. Each week Jacqueline encourages female business owners to tweet her using the #WOW hash tag along with their business name and a short overview of what they do. Jacqueline then picks her three top entries for that week and re-tweets them to her followers (currently over 40,000) with a personal comment on each business. She described Freckled Frog as “offering a stunning selection of children’s clothes – fantastic!”

Harrogate mum of two, Ruth Robinson, launched Freckled Frog in September 2013. The website sells a unique range of clothing and gifts for babies and children, with a focus on organic and handmade collections. As Ruth explains, becoming a #WOW Winner has been a tremendous boost to the business.

Ruth said: It’s hugely flattering and exciting to have been chosen, as Jacqueline selects businesses based on their strong brand values and potential to succeed in their industry. As a new business, this kind of accolade is fantastic as it brings very welcome publicity and has given me even more enthusiasm and drive to make Freckled Frog a success. I’ve already seen a big increase in Twitter followers and hits to the site which is very exciting!

Any other businesses wishing to enter the #WOW competition should tweet @Jacqueline_Gold and hopefully will have as much success as Freckled Frog!
