Police appeal to trace vehicle after Askwith burglary

18 June 2014

Police need to trace a man and a distinctive vehicle following a burglary in Craven.

It occurred during the daytime on Tuesday 10 June 2014, at a cottage on West Lane, Askwith.

Although the burglars did not steal anything, they caused a large amount of damage as they broke into the property.

The vehicle which officers need to trace is described as a people carrier, which has a light coloured top and darker lower half. It is believed to have been parked on the road outside the cottage before reversing into the property’s drive.

Around the same time, a man described as being white was seen walking on West Lane.

Detective Constable Kirsten Aldridge, of Harrogate CID, said: If you believe that you are the man who was seen walking in the area or you were travelling in the people carrier, I urge you to come forward and contact me as you may have vital information which could help my enquiries.

I am also keen to speak to anyone who can help to identify those responsible for this burglary and ask them to get in touch straight away.

Anyone who can assist with this enquiry should contact Harrogate CID on 101, select option 2 and ask for Kirsten Aldridge. Alternatively,
