Local MP Andrew Jones joined volunteers to lay new paths at Rossett Nature Reserve, helping to make the reserve accessible for more people.
Harrogate Borough Council provided the hardcore as well as the equipment and machinery for laying the new paths. Andrew helped with barrowing the hardcore from the reserve entrance to the work area and making the paths. The council’s countryside ranger Sam Walker was on hand with heavy machinery to complete the paths once the hardcore had been put in place.
Andrew said: There are an army of volunteers in our community and many good causes to support. I have helped out at the Nature Reserve on many occasions and was keen to help improve accessibility to the site. Anyone wanting to get involved in volunteering at the nature reserve should contact my office on 01423 529614 and I will put them in touch with the group.
