At around 9.40pm on Saturday 17th August a silver Ford Ka motor car being driven by a 24-year-old woman was travelling along the A61 towards approaching Cascade garden centre.

The driver lost control and collided with a tree. She received serious head injuries and was taken to District Hospital.

Further enquiries reveal that the occupants of a black medium sized car which was also travelling towards may have vital information which could assist the investigation.

Traffic Constable Stuart Holden would like to speak to anyone who may have any information regarding this matter and in particular the driver and occupants of the black vehicle, and he can be contacted on Tel. No. 101 or by email at stuart.holden@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk .
