National property consultant Carter Jonas is continuing to expand its Yorkshire-based energy division, while also celebrating a couple of company promotions.

Charles Hardcastle, who heads the firm’s Energy and Marine team in the north, has been made Partner, while Clare Davey has been promoted to Energy Specialist, and engineer Ben Harrison joins the company ranks as a Senior Energy Specialist.

Charles, who is based in Harrogate and York but covers the north of England, specialises in renewable energy developments providing strategic advice on the development opportunities for wind, hydro, solar, biomass or anaerobic digestion projects.

A keen cricketer in his spare time, Charles’s expertise also extends to all aspects of rural and marine estate management throughout the North East.

Charles, Carter Jonas’ energy and marine partner, said:

I am delighted to make Partner and in particular relish the opportunity to develop our expanding energy team.

With the much deserved promotion of Clare, the addition of Ben and their complementary expertise in renewable energy, we will be delivering an even more focused service across the north.

Clare has been working on wind, hydro and solar energy projects since joining Carter Jonas’s northern team in 2012. She studied alternative energy at Chester University, and has previously worked for a German-based wind developer as project manager.

Ben has joined Carter Jonas as a Senior Energy Specialist from environmental consultancy CO2 Sense in Leeds. A member of the Institute of Energy, Ben holds a first class degree from Edinburgh University, and has more than eight years’ experience providing technical leadership of renewable energy projects at both senior engineer and director level.
