Serious road traffic collision – Wetherby

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious road traffic collision this morning (17th July). It happened on the A1 Northbound near Wetherby at just before 7am. An Iveco articulated lorry and trailer left the road and went onto the banking.

The driver suffered serious leg injuries and was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary where he is in a stable condition.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Major Collision Enquiry Team (MCET) on 101.

Emergency services were called to the A1 northbound, a mile south of junction 46, at about 7am following a report that a lorry had left the carriageway and come to rest in a ditch
