ADD further boosts team with trio of apprentices

A hat trick of the region’s budding young IT enthusiasts are sharpening their technical skills as apprentices with -based computer hardware and data destruction specialist Advanced Digital Dynamics (ADD) Ltd.

Andrew Kinder is training to be an IT technician, Leigh Rowley is developing his sales and marketing skills and Toni Pickersgill is learning the ropes in HR and training.

The appointments come at a formative time for the business – turnover has rocketed from £300k to £4million in the last six years with team numbers increasing from three to 19.

Julie Pickersgill, ADD’s operations director, said:

As a business we’re committed to recruiting, training and developing the very best people from the IT sector. It’s great to give our apprentices a strong start to their careers – their fresh insight is invaluable and we look forward to attracting more young people to the scheme going forward.


Leigh said:

I didn’t know how good I would be at sales, but this opportunity has really helped to build my confidence, it has enhanced my communication skills and my understanding of how a business operates.

Toni who has been studying for her NVQ Management through the company said:

The formal qualification combined with ‘on the job’ training has given me a real insight into the rewards and challenges of working in HR. This feels as though it is a career rather than a job and there are infinite opportunities to develop within this role.


Commented trainee technician Andrew Kinder who joined the scheme after leaving :

I knew I wanted to work in IT and this provided a great opportunity for me to learn new skills and improve my practical knowledge of systems and services.


ADD Ltd provides independent business IT solutions in hardware and software, as well as safe onsite data destruction, lifecycle asset management and disaster recovery.
