Public urged to help trace wanted York man

28 March 2013

Scott-TuoheyYork police are appealing for the public’s help to trace a wanted man.

Scott Tuohey, aged 37, of Bad Bargain Lane, is wanted for breaching a non-molestation order issued following domestic violence against his ex-partner.

Officers believe that Tuohey is still in York but he also has links to Leeds and enquiries to locate him are being conducted in both areas.

The public are urged to keep an eye out for Tuohey and report any sightings of him.

Inspector Rob Thorpe, of York police, said:

Scott Tuohey is well aware that we are looking for him and his reluctance to face the music is only making things worse for him.

It would be much easier for him and anyone helping him to evade the police if he handed himself in.

We won’t stop looking for Tuohey and when we arrest him we will also arrest anyone who has been helping him to avoid arrest.

I am urging the public to help us locate Tuohey by getting in touch if they see him or providing any other information which will assist our search.

Members of the public are reminded not to approach wanted people but to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 1 – and pass information to the Force Control Room.

If you wish to remain anonymous, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111.
