Man left with broken cheek bone after assault at McDonald’s in Harrogate

PoliceNorth Yorkshire Police were called at around 2am on Sunday 24 March 2013 after reports of a disturbance at McDonald’s on Cambridge Street in Harrogate.

During the incident a 41-year-old man suffered a fractured cheek bone and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment before being released.

A 22-year-old man from Bradford was arrested on suspicion of GBH and has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

A 24-year-old man from Bradford who was also present at the scene was arrested for being drunk and disorderly. He was later charged and will appear at Harrogate Magistrates’ Court on 11 April 2013. He was not involved in the assault.

The arrested man was trying to gain access to the then closed toilets at the time of incident.

Harrogate McDonald’s operates 24-hour opening over Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
