Men injured in Harrogate bar assault

PoliceTwo men have been injured in a Harrogate Town centre bar during an assault.

They both sustained head injuries when they were glassed by two other men in Lure Bar, in the Ginnel, at around 11.50pm on Saturday 2 March 2013.

It is believed that the victims had just entered the premises and were trying to get to the bar when the incident occurred. They were taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment to their injuries but were discharged shortly afterwards.

Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or can help to identify the suspects to come forward with information.

The suspects are both white and aged in their early 20s. The first man is described as being around 5ft 9in tall with a medium build and short brown hair. He had stubble on his chin and was wearing a fitted, grey top.

The second man is described as being taller than the first man, with a stocky build and short blonde hair. He was possibly wearing a white t-shirt.

Detective Constable Kirsten Aldridge, of Harrogate CID, said:

This is an isolated incident for Lure Bar and their staff were quick to react and are currently assisting with our enquiries to identify the suspects.

The bar was busy at the time of the incident and I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened to come forward as soon as possible.
