Engage Mutual has been crowned the Saint Michael’s ‘you’re inspired’ 2012 champions following a successful £6,300 fundraising drive.
Throughout October Engage Mutual, undertook fundraising initiatives to raise money for Saint Michael’s in a bid to be crowned ‘you’re inspired’ champions.
Martin Lynch, customer contact centre assistant, led the winning Engage Mutual team which came up with a number of fundraising initiatives.
Culinary creations were on the menu and included a ‘dream recipe’ cook book containing favourite recipes of staff at the Hornbeam Park office. The book which, contains 31 dishes for a range of occasions, proved to be a tasty proposition selling for £3 each.
The team also held a luxury raffle, which boasted an impressive list of prizes including £2,500 of holiday vouchers and a Samsung television. Staff headed out into the area to sell the cook books and raffle tickets receiving generous support from the local community.
Following completion of the month-long challenge the competing ‘you’re inspired’ teams were asked to present their results and highlight fundraising activity to a judging panel. After much deliberation the panel chose Engage Mutual as the ‘you’re inspired’ champions 2012.
Chief Executive of Saint Michael’s and ‘you’re inspired’ judge, Tony Collins, said:
The incredible entrepreneurial flair, team spirit and innovation demonstrated in this challenge has absolutely inspired us all.
The commitment that Engage Mutual have shown during you’re inspired, and indeed continue to show Saint Michael’s, is nothing short of remarkable and we are very grateful to have their support.
The impact of their efforts will be felt by more than 2,400 local people who use and rely on our specialist services every year.
All monies raised will help with the continued improvements of the services offered by Saint Michael’s in Harrogate, as well as helping to extend the work the charity does supporting people in their own homes.
Steve Barry, HR & Learning Director at Engage Mutual, added:
We set out with the aim of raising as much money as possible for Saint Michael’s and staff really got behind the initiative, demonstrating ingenuity and commitment.
It was a long month of fundraising activity but the effort paid off and we’re thrilled that Saint Michael’s will benefit from the amount raised.
