In September, the next generation of paralympians travelled to London from St. John Fisher Catholic School for a day at the ‘Greatest Games on Earth’.

Pupils Jordan Teodori-Faith, Jordan Nugent, Josh Clawson and Dale Joyce were joined by staff members Mrs Colette Woolnough and Mr Anthony Hussey on the trip of a lifetime to the Olympic Stadium on Day 9 of the London Paralympic Games.

They joined the massed ranks of sporting enthusiasts to cheer on Mickey Bushell in the 200m T53 heat and roar Josie Pearson to three world records as she claimed Gold in the discus.

They also enjoyed the spectacle of the Javelin F40 category athletes turning cartwheels whenever they threw a good distance.

Jordan Nugent said:

The noise in the stadium was truly amazing and so noisy, especially when any of the Team GB athletes appeared.

All four students thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the whole occasion has inspired them to attain success in their sporting pursuits.
