Man found on road in Pateley Bridge with serious head injuries

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for witnesses after a man was found lying unconscious in the road in Pateley Bridge.

The man, aged 58, from Cornwall, was found by a passing motorist near Riverside Caravan Park on Low Wath Road, close to the junction with Ashfield Court Road, at around 1.40am on Friday 10 August 2012

He had suffered a head injury and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he remains in a serious condition.

Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident and are appealing to anyone who can help their enquiries to come forward.

Anyone with information that could help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Harrogate CID.

Low Wath Road has now been reopened.
