Serious collision near Northallerton

Police are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic near Northallerton.

It occurred at around 5.45am today (Tuesday 31 July) on the A168 two miles south of the town and involved a small silver car and a lorry.

As a result of the collision, the local man driving the car suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Friarage hospital in Northallerton.

The road is expected to remain closed until around lunchtime and local diversions are in place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact North Yorkshire Police in 101, select option 2 and ask for John Lumbard.
