Organisers of Tockwith Show have said this year’s event will go ahead despite the wet summer that has claimed many show victims.
chairman, Sam Blacker said:
We carried out an inspection of the field last week and the ground is in good condition despite the wet weather of recent weeks and the arrival of sunshine is only going to help that.
We’re aware that entries have been slow to come in due to uncertainty about the show going ahead and we have extended the deadline for entries to July 31 – just a few days before the show on 5 August
Mr Blacker said advance ticket applications were also coming in following confirmation that the show would be going ahead and the cut off date for advance purchases has also been extended by a week.
This year’s show is on Sunday August 5 at Tockwith and District Showground on Cattal Moor Lane.
Tickets are £7.50 for adults, with children under 16 free and free car parking. Full details of the classes and how to enter are available at www.tockwithshow.org.uk, where advance tickets can also be purchased online.
