Unexploded device in Selby

PoliceSelby police are currently dealing with an unexploded device which was uncovered by workmen in the Water Lane area this morning.

Exact location of the device is behind the Three Swans Pub on Church Hill.

The post office, library and shops between the Three Swans Pub and the post office have been evacuated.

The device was reported to police at 8.40am today (17 July 2012). A 100 metre cordon is currently in place as a precaution and the police have contacted the Army’s bomb disposal unit.

The roads have been closed around the cordon.
