Police release image of Selby shoplifting suspect

Selby police have released an image of a shoplifting suspect following a theft from a supermarket in the town.

It occurred just after midday on Thursday 10 May 2012, from Tesco on Portholme Road.

A man entered the store with two woman before taking a number of DVDs, valued at around £300, and leaving the store without paying for them. After leaving the store the man headed down Portholme Road towards the bus station.

The suspect is described as white with short brown hair.

PC Pete McCreedy, of Selby Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

If you recognise the man suspected of this theft please contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

I am also asking the man himself to get in touch if there has been a misunderstanding so that he can be eliminated from our enquiries.
