Hard work and determination can lead to great things and there is no stopping one Harrogate pupil who is on track to play for England.
Lizzie Collinson, aged 15, is a pupil at Harrogate Ladies’ College who has been fasted tracked through to join the National Centex Lacrosse Programme at Wycombe Abbey School. This is the only route available for a young player to have a chance to play for England at U19 and U21 levels.
However, this is not Lizzie’s first encounter with Centex as she represented them in matches in Germany last year. Following her dedication, training and consistently high performance with the Regional Centex Team she now has the chance to play in an England shirt.
This is what I’ve been building up for all these years and I am thrilled to be promoted to the England Centex squad.
Nicky Butters, Director of PE, said:
Lizzie fully deserves this opportunity. She is an outstanding athlete and games player. I am sure she will get her chance to represent England in the near future.
