  • Jonny Allan
  • Adam Nowakowski

  • Lee Elam
  • Alex Meechan
  • Robbie Youhill

Paul Brayson, Jake Picton and Laurie Wilson have all been released but Harrogate Town AFC have thanked them for their efforts whilst playing for them.

Manager Simon Weaver is keen to allow players with long term injuries from last season a chance to prove their fitness and show what they can do. With this in mind Paul Heckingbottom, Danny Stimpson, Liam Hardy and Michael Brough have all been invited back to pre-season training. Also invited back are strikers Chib Chilaka and Paul Beesley along with youngsters Dan Clayton, Jack Emmett and Josh Garbutt. Simon will be speaking with central defender Richard Pell when he returns back from holiday shortly.

Harrogate Town manager Simon Weaver has also moved quickly to beat off a host of opposition to land the signatures of two highly rated players.

Shane KillockJoining Town for the new season are AFC Telford United’s centre back Shane Killock and Worcester City’s right sided player Dwayne Samuels.

Shane (pictured right), 23, had a short loan spell at Harrogate Town during the 2008-2009 season when he made an instant impact on his debut against AFC Telford United, winning the Man of the Match award. Originally on the books at Huddersfield Town, Shane has also turned out for Ossett Abion, Hyde United and Oxford United. He joined AFC Telford United in 2009 following a successful loan period and helped them to the Blue Square Premier via the play-offs. At just 21, Shane was made captain of the Buck’s team and was voted their Player of the Season.

Dwayne, 21, is a pacey right sided player, who is comfortable in both defence and midfield, and joins us following his release from Worcester City. He started his career at West Bromwich Albion and played a handful of games before a spell at Grimsby Town occurred.

Dropping in to non-league football Dwayne joined Shane at AFC Telford United in July 2011 before moving on to Worcester City at the business end of last season.

Simon Weaver commented:

I am very excited by these two signings. I didn’t know if we would get them and I am delighted that they have both seen what we are trying to achieve and realise as a club and joined. They are both super lads, not just with their football but also with their attitudes. They bring just what John (McDermott) and I are looking for in players.

Town fans will get the chance to see both players in action when Harrogate travel to play Ossett Albion in their first pre-season friendly on the 21st July 2012 (kick off time to be confirmed).
