Staff and family of M. Procter Opticians, Harrogate took on the Yorkshire 3-peaks to raise money for Saint Michaels Hospice last weekend. They battled through wind, rain, hail and the notorious bogs to cover 24 miles, taking in Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and raising £770 in the process.
Mike Procter commented:
We would like to thank everyone who made a donation and we are delighted with amount raised. We all succeeded in walking the whole 3-Peaks Challenge and enjoyed a day of great team spirit. There were a few stiff legs on Monday morning but a great sense of achievement.
Saint Michael’s chief executive, Tony Collins, said:
Congratulations to the team from M Proctor Opticians that participated in the Three Peaks challenge on behalf of Saint Michael’s. It’s a gruelling challenge at the best of times but with the bad weather makes it even more remarkable.
We rely on the fundraising efforts of people in the local community so we’re very grateful the team’s determination to complete the Three Peaks and we’re delighted they raised so much money in the process.
