Purple Mafia win the Harrogate AMP Awards 2012

The AMP Awards took place on the evening of 23 February 2012 in the Royal Hall in .

The A.M.P. Awards (Association of Music and Promotion) is both a Music and Enterprise Competition involving the collaboration of pupils and staff at Secondary Schools across Yorkshire, Business Sponsors and Mentors, Music Industry Experts and Charity Partners.

This year’s winners

Best Band:

1st Purple Mafia – with Outwood Academy

2nd The Tickets – St Aidan’s High School

3rd The Idea –

 

Best Musician Prizes to:

Rebecca Longbotton – Lead Guitarist , Dark Days of December (Boroughbridge High School)

Tom Fox Bass / Backing Vocals, The Specs (St John Fisher High School)

Special Band Prize sponsored by Richard Turner , Muzo:

Dark Days of December (Boroughbridge High School)

 

Business Teams:

1st Place Dyna-mic – St Aidan’s High School (AMP Responsibility – Social and Online Media)

2nd Place Reem Team – (AMP Responsibility – Hospitality)

2nd Place Sound Investment – King James’s School, (AMP Event Responsibility – Front of House)

(joint second place)

Business teams receive cheques sponsored by Procter & Gamble back to their schools to spend on team building and further enterprise projects.

The winning band has the opportunity to play on the Main Stage at Culture Shock (23rd June) and also at the Lights Switch On Thursday 22nd November
