Campervan fire spreads to house in Starbeck – woman held on suspicion of arson

and Rescue were called to a on Wentworth Crescent, late last night (4th October)

Two appliances attended from the Station and found a campervan that was well alight. The had also spread to the adjacent house.

Two hose reels, four breathing apparatus and a triple extension ladder was used.

The fire was quickly brought under control, although the van received 100% fire damage, while the house received 20% fire damage but 100% smoke damage.

Investigations are under way this morning over the cause of the fire.

A 51-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of arson. She is currently in custody as enquiries continue. She suffered a non-serious burn to her hand and no other injuries.
