The team from Home Instead Senior Care in Harrogate, Ripon and Thirsk put their best feet forward to take part in this year’s Memory Walk at Studley Royal Deer Park near Fountains Abbey to raise funds and awareness for the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

Owners Sheena and Andrew Van Parys together with their Care Manager Debbie Lewin teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Society Ripon & Harrogate District to organise and take part in the circular four mile walk around Studley Royal on World Alzheimer’s Day on the 21st September.

Kathy Patton from the Alzheimers Society, Andrew Van Parys from Home Instead, Debbie Lewin from Home Instead, Sarah Hogg from the Alzheimers Society, Ann and David Wells with dog Boris, Sheena Van Parys from Home Instead.

Commenting, Sheena said: “In our day to day lives we work very closely with the older people in the area living with the disease, so it was great to have been able to do our bit to support such a great cause. The Memory Walk is now a firm fixture on our calendar and the funds raised will help the Alzheimer’s Society in the provision of local services for people with dementia.”

Andrew Van Parys added: ‘it was great to team up with the Alzheimer’s Society to work together on such an important issue, and it was fantastic to see members of the public joining us on the walk as well as those who the Alzheimer’s Society supports on a regular basis”.
