Kirby Hill well damaged – Information appeal

Police are appealing for information after a historic well was damaged in Kirby Hill, near Boroughbridge.

It occurred on Church Lane between 10pm on Wednesday 1 June and 8am Thursday 2 June. A vehicle hit the well causing extensive damage, valued at around £1,000.

The driver did not stop at the scene and has not reported the collision.

Police Constable Neil Roworth, of the Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am appealing to the driver of the car to come forward as I need to speak to them about the collision.

“I would also like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision or garages that may have carried out repairs to the vehicle following the incident.”
