Fugitive burglar Michael Kenny arrested following public appeal

KENNY Michael EdwardNorth Yorkshire issued an  in March 2011 for the public’s help to trace a man who has been on the run from court since 2007.

50-year-old Michael Edward Kenny originally from London was sentenced in his absence to eight years’ imprisonment at Crown Court on 15 November 2007.

A bench warrant was issued by the court on 13 November 2007, when Kenny failed to turn up for his trial. He was found guilty in his absence of six high-value burglaries following the theft of antiques, paintings and jewellery worth thousands of pounds from six houses in the Malton, Great Broughton and areas.

 

With the assistance of Bedfordshire , Kenny was today (6 May 2011) arrested in Luton, Bedfordshire and he is currently in custody.
