Police searching for stolen bridge

Police in Selby are investigating the theft of a bridge.

It was taken overnight between Thursday 17 February and Friday 18 February from a holding yard near to Euro Auctions on Roall Lane, Kellington where it was being stored on the back of a trailer for an articulated lorry .

The steel foot bridge measures 3ft 6in wide and weighs approximately 10.5 tonnes and valued at around £25,000. It was on the back of a 40ft trailer.

Police Constable Steve Armitage, of Selby Police Station, said: “The pedestrian foot bridge has been constructed to be used in a shopping centre currently being built in Leeds.

“I am asking that if anyone saw the bridge being stolen or knows where it was taken to they contact me as soon as possible as I need to speak to them.”
