Second annual spring ball to support cancer patients in Harrogate

9 February 2016

The second annual Spring Ball to raise funds for the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support in Harrogate will take place at the Old Swan Hotel on Saturday 14 May 2016.

Last year’s event was a memorable evening of fine food, live music and amazing prizes, which raised an incredible £17,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support and Harrogate Hospital & Community Charity.

Sarah Grant, chair of the Spring Ball Committee and Patient Information and Wellbeing Advisor at the Sir Robert Ogden Macmillan Centre said:

The money raised from last year’s ball has enabled us to fund additional supportive therapies for over 12 months to help patients and carers affected by cancer living in Harrogate and the surrounding districts.

This year we want to raise even more funds to enable us to provide more services like this for people living with and affected by cancer. After the success of last year’s event tables are already selling fast, so book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!

Michaela Ryder, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan in North Yorkshire added:

Sadly the number of people being diagnosed with cancer is increasing every year and that means Macmillan’s support for people living with cancer is in more demand than ever.

No one should have to face cancer alone and events like this help us be there for people with cancer and their family when they need us most.

Community and Events Fundraiser at Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity, David Fisher said:

By supporting the Spring Ball, not only will you be guaranteed a great night out, but you will also be helping the us to provide services to patients and carers above and beyond what the NHS can provide, helping to improve the wellbeing of patients and carers at the Centre.

Tickets for this year’s Spring Ball are £75.00 per person, with tables of ten or 12 available. Guests will receive a welcome drink, sumptuous three course fine dining experience with wine, live band and disco.

Relaxation therapies and pre-ball make up sessions are also available throughout the day at Boots, and a limited number of reduced rate rooms are available at the Old Swan Hotel.
