Resurfacing due to begin on A61 Ripon Road

27 March 2019

Resurfacing and patching of the A61 Ripon Road is scheduled to begin on Monday (1 April).

Work will take place on the sections of the road between Otley Road in Killinghall (B6161) and the A61 Ripon bypass and then Harrogate Road from A61 Ripon bypass to B6265 Water Skellgate Ripon.

The work is programmed to be carried out from Monday, 1 April, to Friday, 26 April, between 9.30am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday. The work will be done on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council by Tarmac.

County Councillor Don Mackenzie, Executive Member for Highways, said:

This is part of an extensive programme, so some adjustment to this start date or the duration of the work may be necessary should there be unforeseen circumstances, such as severe weather or emergencies on the road network.

Signs will be displayed in the area indicating the extent of the works and when operations are due to begin.

A temporary 10mph speed limit will be in force within the limits of the works together with traffic lights. On-site personnel will assist in managing access to properties within the works. There will be extended periods when access will not be possible due to the nature of the work and physical constraints of the site. Pedestrians and emergency vehicles will be permitted access at all times.
