Fresh from recent successes, including taking the top award at three competitive music festivals, 14-year-old Isaac Bousfield will join Harrogate Philharmonic Orchestra to perform David’s Trombone Concertino which he played with wit and technical brilliance to win the Concerto class of Harrogate Competitive Music Festival in 2017.

The HPO provides talented young musicians who win the concerto class at the Festival with the opportunity to perform with orchestral accompaniment. Having played with the National Children’s Orchestra, the National Children’s Brass Band, the National Youth Brass Band of Great Britain and been awarded a place at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester starting in September, this is another step towards Isaac’s ambition of becoming a professional trombone player. Come and see a star of the future!

The concert, on Saturday 7 July at 7:30pm at St Mark’s Church, Leeds Road, Harrogate, will open with Dvorak’s Legends, a subtle and lyrical piece in 10 parts. In contrast Beethoven’s 2nd Symphony is bold and cheerful, rounding off a concert that has something for everyone.
