Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP) launch new website

15 August 2016

Local charity, the Harrogate Easier Living Project (HELP) has launched a new website detailing its services available to older or vulnerable people, and those living with disability, across the Harrogate District.

The Harrogate and Ripon based charity offers a range of services designed to assist people with living independently within their own homes. These include Help at Home; a DIY, odd job, decorating and gardening service, voluntary car driving services, accompanied support to get out and about and befriending.

Site visitors to www.helpharrogate.org.uk  and www.helpripon.org.uk can find the latest information about support available, who is eligible and how to access it. Visitors also have the option to enquire directly to the charity via the website’s enquiry forms.

Frances Elliot, HELP Manager, said:

As our service offer continues to grow, we feel it is important to have a platform where we can explain to all our audiences how we support local older or vulnerable people across the District. This need for remote information is especially important given that many of the people we support do not have family living nearby. Our informative website enables relatives and friends living outside the area to make an enquiry on behalf of a local resident.

The site also details ways in which people and local organisations can get involved with the project, from volunteering to fundraising.

The charity is particularly keen to hear from people who could offer companionship to local older people who may be at risk of social isolation.

They are also seeking volunteer drivers to help passengers get to medical appointments and to make essential trips.
