Boroughbridge Nursery hits the right note with Glastonbury Day

3 July 2015

Happy Jays Boroughbridge nursery has celebrated the start of festival season with a jam-packed extravaganza of camping and music-themed activities.

One of the Happy Jays group of private nurseries across Yorkshire, Boroughbridge nursery streamed all the action from Glastonbury festival live into the nursery where happy children enjoyed singing and dancing.

Children and staff were kitted out in shorts, hats and wellies, and children were given glow sticks, inflatable guitars and microphones to complete the theme.

Employees decorated the nursery with children’s parachutes to replicate Glastonbury’s tents and stages and organised themed activities including making muddy puddle footprint posters, face painting and producing special postcards with photos of the children in their fancy dress.

Lauren Taylor, who came up with the idea of hosting a Glastonbury Day at the nursery, said:

It was a colourful, fantastic and memorable day for everyone involved and there was lots of excitement among the pre-schoolers and their parents in the build up to it.

Tony Gernon, MD of Happy Days, commented:

Special events like Glastonbury Day encapsulate the ethos of Happy Jays and the commitment of our staff to always go the extra mile. We are proud to provide an excellent standard of care and learning while ensuring children enjoy the time they spend with us.

Happy Jays provides Ofsted registered nursery and childcare in Batley, Harrogate, Boroughbridge, York and Scarborough.
