Golf day helps raise money for Henshaws

28 June 2015

Thursday 18 June 2015 – Henshaws welcomed 14 teams of enthusiastic golf players to Harrogate Golf club to enjoy a round of Golf.

The money raised will contribute to refurbishing the houses on Henshaws College Campus and provide affordable housing for people with disabilities, allowing them to live as independently as possible.

The event was organised by Henshaws Yorkshire Events Committee chaired by Councillor Anne Jones and also including Steve Jones of Homes Together, Drew Hackett and Paul Kingston from Cargills. The committee work together organising events to raise funds for Henshaws, recently their Gourmet Call My Bluff wine tasting event raised £8000!

Lisa Sherratt, Fundraiser for Henshaws said:

It was a brilliant day and we’ve raised close to £5000. We’re incredibly grateful to our Events Committee and our sponsors today, CNG, British Gas, Cargills and Stephenson Control. Thank you to everyone who came and we hope to see you again at future events.

Attendees enjoyed a “blind chipping” competition which was won by Andy Hawkeswell, a team from Vocalink took first prize with British Gas taking a very close second with only one point in it!”
