Appeal for witnesses after man dies in York car crash

Police are investigating the death of man involved in a single-vehicle collision in York.

The 53-year-old from Selby was driving a red Vauxhall Corsa on Lowther Street when it crashed into a wall about 6.45pm on Thursday 6 November 2014.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to York District Hospital by ambulance where he was sadly died.

The man’s next of kin have been informed about the death but we are not in a position to name him at this stage.

Police enquiries, which have included an examination of the scene by collision investigators, are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officers are appealing for people to come forward who witnessed the collision or anyone with information that could assist the investigation.
