Whixley Village shop burgled

PoliceThe village shop in Whixley was burgled in the early hours of Monday morning (10 December 2012)

The shop on The Cobbles was entered by burglars at around 1am causing damaging to the interior. They stole a small amount of cash and some cigarettes.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area or witnessed the break-in to contact them.

PC Neil Roworth of Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

This is a small business which provides a vital service to the local community and I am appealing to anyone who can help identify the offenders to get in touch.

Anyone who saw or heard anything in the early hours of Monday morning is urged to contact Boroughbridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, please call 101, select option 2 and ask for Neil Roworth.
