Geo Underwriting has donated its Flower Wall from the Great Yorkshire Show 2026 to Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate. Saint Michael’s was among almost 50 nominations for the donation handed in at the event and online.
Saint Michael’s is a local hospice care charity which specialises in supporting people suffering with or affected by terminal illness, across the Harrogate district. It is part of the independent charity North Yorkshire Hospice Care, a family of services which includes Herriot Hospice and Just ‘B’. They provide vital hospice care, emotional wellbeing and bereavement support for local communities across North Yorkshire.
The Hospice received the many plants that were part of the Geo Underwriting Flower Wall displayed in the members’ enclosure at the Great Yorkshire Show on Tuesday 28th July. The plants and shrubs were presented to them by Liz Johnson, Geo Underwriting’s Technical Underwriter.
Kate Bush, Trading Director at Geo Underwriting, said:
We’re delighted to be able to support St Michael’s Hospice this year. Their team provides incredible care, comfort and dignity to families during some of life’s most difficult moments, and we know just how much that support means to local communities. We hope this donation helps them in their efforts to provide patients with beautiful, peaceful surroundings to enjoy with their families. Thank you to everyone who submitted a nomination – it was genuinely moving to see so many worthwhile causes put forward.
At Geo, we don’t just insure rural businesses and farms, we have deep-rooted connections to the agricultural community. We understand the importance of supporting the people and organisations that make such a positive difference locally, and beyond.

Jacqui Havercroft, Supporter Care Manager at Saint Michaels Hospice said:
We are incredibly grateful to Geo Underwriting for their generous donation of these beautiful flowers. Thoughtful gestures like this make a real difference to our hospice environment, helping to create warm, welcoming spaces that can bring comfort and brighten the day for everyone who walks through our doors. We know these flowers will be enjoyed by our patients, their families and our dedicated staff, and we’d like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at Geo Underwriting for their kindness and support.
This year’s Flower Wall, created by Fiona Macdonald from Raspberry Wild, contained a wide variety of local flowers including Blue Salvia, Sweet Williams, Firecracker Foxgloves, and Cherry Chocolate Cosmos, the latter well known for a fragrance that strongly resembles chocolate. The wall also featured a bespoke oil painting by local artist, Francesca Heyer, which will now adorn the walls at Geo’s Harrogate office.
