Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision on Bradley Lane from the direction of Askham Richard towards Rufforth.
The collision took place around 10.25am on morning (Monday 25 May 2026) and involved a cyclist and a John Dere tractor.
The cyclist was part of a group of cyclists, none of the other cyclists were injured.
Sadly, the 53-year-old cyclist has passed away earlier yesterday. His family have been informed.
The driver of the tractor, a 75-year-old man from the York area was interviewed by police and released under investigation.
The road remained closed for several hours to allow for collision investigation work and recovery to take place.
There is appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the collision or moments leading up to it, including either of the vehicles involved prior to the collision.
